Matthew Hill's Opponent Is Already Campaigning

Well, here’s a few updates related to Sullivan County’s finest, Matthew Hill.

-Todd Smith, hopefully the next state rep for the 7th District, is out campaigning against Hill already. That’s a nice little video of Smith, who is a much more polished public speaker. Based on Hill’s Web site, it appears Matty is still trying to decide if he should run against Smith.

-Over here, you can read a JC Press reader’s comments, spelling out Matthew Hill’s lack of accomplishments in the area of education.

-I find it interesting that Matthew Hill felt obliged to honor Al Gore and his Nobel Prize-winning An Inconvenient Truth.

-Someone has been posting info about shady business practices by the Hill family.

-Matthew sure does enjoy getting beer money.

Here’s some David Davis news:

-Timmy Hill’s replacement, Ryan Tronovitch, is a New Yorker who graduated from college in 2006. Strange.

-David Davis has a very wealthy opponent this fall.
“David and I have some things in common. We’re both committed Christians and we’re pro-life,” Roe said.

However, Roe said the differences lie in his aversion to accepting money from special interest groups and Davis’ “inconsistent” votes.

“I wouldn’t support collective bargaining for firefighters and I certainly wouldn’t have voted against a dog-fighting bill like he did,” Roe said. “When he was a state representative he voted for the largest tax increase in state history. I didn’t know conservatives did that.”
Dr. Roe is better than Davis in so many ways.

-Davis stated his support for amnesty for illegal aliens, the same platform that has conservatives annoyed with McCain and Bush.

-David Davis received a campaign donation in October from an attorney representing Studsvik, Inc., a radioactive waste incinerator company. You know, the company that most of Erwin doesn’t want as their next neighbor.

I must say, Smith and Roe in 2008 wouldn’t be too bad for Washington County. I sure wouldn’t miss Hill and Davis, that’s for sure.
